An Unused Law Could Threaten Women’s Healthcare in Alabama
This is a piece I submitted as my midterm project for my Capstone course during my Spring 2025 semester at Howard University. It is centered on the West Alabama Women's Center vs. Marshall, a lawsuit that determined whether Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall would be able to prosecute doctors that help women get abortions in states where the procedure is legal. As of April 2025, a federal court ruled that he cannot enforce this provision. Because this case was decided before story completion, the piece was no longer current and therefore was never published officially. However, I have still chosen to include it as an example of work that I have written.
